Zykadia (ceritinib) is a cancer medication that interferes with the growth and spread of cancer cells in the body.
Zykadia is used to treat non-small cell lung cancer caused by a defect in a certain gene. It is used when the cancer has spread to other parts of the body. Zykadia is usually given after other cancer medicines have been tried without success.
Zykadia was approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on an "accelerated" basis. In clinical studies, non-small cell lung tumors responded to this medicine. However, it has not been shown that Zykadia can improve symptoms or lengthen survival time.
Zykadia is available only from a certified pharmacy. You must be registered in the program and understand the risks of taking this medicine.
