SAFETY PROFILE:
A poison. A severe explosion hazard when shocked or exposed to heat. Explodes when heated above 150°C. Trinitrocresol is not as powerful a high explosive as TNT or picric acid. Can react vigorously with oxidizing materials. When heated to decomposition it emits highly toxic fumes of NOx and explodes. See also NITRO COMPOUNDS of AROMATIC HYDROCARBONS and EXPLOSIVES, HIGH.
